Help! I'm not finding an house swap
Wouldn't it be wonderful if you sent out just one home exchange offer and got your ideal swap right away? Of course it doesn't always work like that because swapping homes is not the same as making a reservation with a hotel service or travel agency. You need to devote just as much effort to finding the exchange you are looking for, as you expect others to put into finding your listing and contacting you! Many travelers from around the world seem to have no difficulty finding an exchange. However there often a few that need a little extra help. The following house swap guide provides tips in helping you find the exchange you want. Weather you just answer others listings and wait for replies, register your home and sit back as an arm chair home exchanger or take an aggressive approach, sign up with numerous agencies plus reply to others invitations you may be having difficulties finding a home swap.
Let's analyze possible reasons for you not receiving home exchange replies.
Technical This is the most obvious reason and yet every year we encounter home swappers that miss out out on exchanges because of technical reasons.
Check your email address. Is your email address correct? Did you check? Try sending yourself an email just to make sure. If your email address is incorrect, you aren't going to receive replies. Every year we receive a few new registrations with wrong email addresses. We can usually catch obvious mistakes, such as misspelling common URL's (Yaho.com) and will do our best in trying to find your email address through a web search. We have made phone calls and sent letters to new registrants whose email address can not be found or who have their spam filter set so high. Does your email spam filter accept emails from strangers? Home exchanges work because two people either from another area of their country or from around the world are able to initially connect by email. If you are not receiving replies, check your spam filter and here's a hint. Check your junk mail. Yahoo and Hotmail filters will often place legitimate home exchange email inquiries in the junk mailbox. Stating possible home exchange, home exchange inquiry in the subject line catches attention.
