Although our house is a large family home, we are only 2 people travelling. We are a middle aged couple who are housepround and would treat any home we stayed in as we do our own. With 4 large bedrooms including master with aircon, 6 foot super-king bed & en-suite shower room, family bathroom plus downstairs shower room, huge sitting room/diner, large kitchen/diner/day room and office space you will find a high level of finish throughout the house. Broadband and satellite UK TV.
In the summer the house is very light and airy and the white painted wooden shutters can be part closed to help keep out the heat of the sun when you want to keep the house cool. The central heating and 2 logburning stoves make it easy to keep warm in the winter months.
The house is located down its own 400m drive on the edge of a village with shop and a leisure/swimming lake with tennis court.
Lot-et-Garonne is a beautiful departement in Aquitaine, South West France and is bordered by the Dordogne to the north, the Lot and Tarn et Garonne to the east, the Gironde, Gers and Landes to the south and west. The rolling landscape is a patchwork of fruit orchards, vinyards, fields of sunflowers, Blond Aquitaine cows, wheat and tobacco fields.
It is also the region of the 'Bastide', magnificent medieval towns such as Monflanquin, Villereal, Beauville, Eymet, Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Tournon d'Agenais, and more.
The nearby Dordogne River runs through a valley packed full of beautiful chateaux and caves with paleolithic wall paintings dating back 16,000 years! Just to the north are the famous vinyards of Bordeaux, St. Emillion and the sweet wines of Monbazillac. This is one of the leading tourist areas in France.
