This is our Summer House with our own private beach front and half acre of native bush (Note New Zealand does not have any dangerous animals or reptiles).
Situated near Russell, in the Bay of Islands, it is a comfortable 4.5hrs drive north of New Zealand’s International Airport and largest City Auckland. As this is our second home, non simultaneious exchange is OK and dates are flexible.
“OUR BAY”
By the way if you are into seafood’s fresh oysters and mussels grow on the rocks at the bottom of the garden in a safe tranquil swimming Bay opening to the Pacific Ocean.
Dolphins come into our Bay a number of times a year plus the occasional pod of orcas.
“SEASONS”
Seasons here are the opposite of what they are in the Northern hemisphere, with the best summer months falling in December January and February.
“OUR HOUSE”
The house built (mid 70's )of natural timbers and cedar is of 4 bedrooms, The Home also has two lounges plus large decks and BarBQ area, A modern laundry which includes automatic washing machine and dryer and a kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, freezer and pantry.
“BEDROOMS & FACILITIES”
Two of the spacious double bedrooms have Kingsize beds and seperate ensuite ( WC & Shower ). The other two upstairs bedrooms each have 2 single beds and a shared bathroom. ( WC & Shower over bath ) All bedrooms have windows or french doors overlooking the bay.
“WILDLIFE & NIGHT SKY”
Native birds inhabit the bush and you can hear the kiwi at night.
Also at night you can watch the Satellites going overhead in a fabulous southern hemisphere star studded sky which includes the Southern Cross.
“RUSSELL”
Russell is a quaint quiet village, and was the first capital of New Zealand and one of the first European settlements. Originally known as “The Hell Hole of the Pacific” the town is rich in history with a variety of shops cafes and restaurants that do not spoil the old charm. Hours can be spent in the museum tracing the towns history from the first European settlers, whaling and marine history. Even the headstones at New Zealand's first church have a story to tell. The old charm, history, modern facilities and access to many attractions make it the perfect base for a romantic stay, family holiday or base to explore the upper north island. with regular car Ferry services to the mainland and Passenger ferries operate continuously to the tourist town of Paihia where additional shops and attractions can be found.
“CLOSEST CITY & LARGE TOWN”
The City of Whangarei is a 45 minute drive South and KeriKeri is but 25 minutes drive north.

“ABOUT US”
My wife and I are both New Zealanders in our late 50's and have been in business since our late teens. Now, as Grandparents, we have decided to mellow, slow down, kickback and hope to travel more.
We are both non smokers and would not want any smoking in the house nor do we have any pets. We would treat your house with the greatest respect and care and would expect you to do likewise.
“DESTINATIONS”
We are interested in visiting a large variety of countries such as England, Europe, Canada USA in fact any and all opportunities considered. We are experienced Exchangee's.
“VEHICLE ON OFFER”
Our vehicle is a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer GLXi Wagon.
