Adelaide, capital of South Australia, has a population of 1 million. My living rooms have big windows looking straight across to beautiful Rymill Park. Tranquil most of the time, and home to festivals and events at others. e.g. Tour Down Under, Fringe Festival (2nd only to the Edinburgh Festival), WOMAD music festival, equestrian events, etc. 5 mins across the park is the main city centre, packed with restaurants, cafes, pubs, art galleries, boutiques, department stores and museums. Also within walking distance: Adelaide Zoo, Botanic Gardens, the world-famous Adelaide Oval, International Wine Centre. Public transport at the door linking major attractions such as Glenelg beachfront precinct, white sandy beaches, and famous wine districts including Barossa Valley, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale. Easy links to Kangaroo Island, and Adelaide is the gateway to the Outback including Flinders Ranges, Ayers Rock, Alice Springs etc.

I am a well-travelled, retired professional aged 56, and will be traveling alone with one other visitor at times. My home is suitable for singles or a couple (not really suited to children) but the spare bedroom and separate bathroom is ideal if you have short term visitors.
